The Bronner Sisters

On top: Tom Barr (Marie's husband)
2nd row: Marie, Felicite
3rd row: Madeline, Jeanne

The back of the photo reads:
"Taken in year 1940
Mother died May 5 year 1941
At age 67 year old and 11 months
Now only three sisters left. One in Florida and one in Milford Conn. One in Holyoke Mass.
Aunt Marie, Aunt Madeline, Aunt Jeannie"

The photo above comes to us from Sherrie Harbor, sent out to her family and new found cousins, for the who-is-who in this joyful picture of the Bronner sisters. Clarification comes to us from Phyillis and Marie:

Marie:
I am Marie Jeanne Morin Fennessy, daughter of George and Emma Morin and granddaughter of Jeanne. Marcie is my sister. I think three of the ladies in the picture are:  Jeanne, Marie and Madeline.  I am not sure who the other lady is or the gentlemen.

Phyllis:
"I'm Phyllis Mollé, daughter of Adrienne Bronner Mollé, granddaughter of Amelie Felicie Bronner. That's Marie and Tom Barr at the top, with Felicie just down from Tom. The photo might have been taken in Fla. (or maybe Mass.?) Marie and Tom lived in Fla and came to visit us in Dumont, NJ a number of times, after Felicie moved there with us in June, 1939.  Felicie died in May, 1941 after a long illness. A cousin, Robert Ben Aroch moved with us, also. He was the son of Leon Ben Aroch and Leontine Bronner. After Leontine's death at an early age, Felicie lived with Leon and Robert (since he was very young) and then continued to care for him after his father died. He lived with us until he joined the navy."

My Family Tree!

My great, great grandparents, Charles and Felicite (Brunet) Bronner's French linage. Felicite's lineage dates back to the 1600's. Thanks for this amazing information Sherrie! Sherrie and I connected through this blog. We are distant cousins through Felicite's daughters.

The Lucas Family

Here's one from the Lucas side of the family. The Lucas boys, Emma Morin's brothers, with their mother, Mary Lucas (maiden name Bizak), aka Grandma Lucas.

Does anyone have any more information about this photo? I'm assuming it is in Grandma Lucas' house. I recognize a photo of Gale and Sandy and another of Marie on the mantel.

*Update since post!

*John Lucas: "I spoke with my father,  Jack Lucas, Emil's son, and he wrote the following: "That is Grandma Lucas' house at 1640 Boston Avenue, Bpt., taken in her living room. Lower left is Nicholas, upper left John, center Emil, upper right Francis, lower right Michael. Here is a pic of how the house looks now. I guess there was a huge stone and slate covered front porch that wrapped around the whole front....

*Jack Lucas: "Seeing that photo of my Dad & uncles made my day! My son John sent it to me. That is Grandma Lucas, just as I remember her. My Dad Emil is 89 years old, and lives in Maine, next door to my sister, Linda. He is the last surviving member of that family. Again, my profound thanks for your interest in our "roots." Regards, Jack, Brookfield, CT.

First Communion

Here is Jeanne Bronner's (Mémère's) First Communion card and a photo which we think might be her First Communion photo. If so the photo was taken around 1899, placing her around 13 years old.

The Bronner Family

This is the Bronner family. The youngest girl in the middle is Pop-pop's mother, Jeanne. We knew her as Mémère (French for Grandma) or Grandma Lestage. She was born in 1886 in St Etienne, France and lived to be 96 years old. Notice those dresses! Mémère had this picture hanging in her room in Florida and its still in the frame. We don't know much about Mémère's sisters.

*Update since post!

* Denise Stuart: "Madeleine was my Grandmother...She died in March of 1958, a month before I was born. She was married to Felix Dansereau. They had 9 children. 5 girls and 4 boys."

* Sherrie Haber: "I was thrilled to find the pictures of Felicite (aka Felicie) and Charles. Her Maiden name was Brunet. I am a descendant of their daughter Felicity. She was my great-great grandmother. There was a 13 year age difference from Felicity to Jeanne. Felicity had a daughter named Armande who was born in 1904 and still living in California. Here is a picture of the building where Charles and Felicie lived in France. It was taken by my grandmothers cousin Phyillis."

Back to the beginning...

Here are Charles & Felicie Bronner. They are George Morin's (my grandfather, Marcie's father) grandparents. As far as we know, this is the farthest back in ancestry our pictures go on the Morin side. Although the name Bronner is traced back to Germany, many people married and migrated into France. Charles and Felicie are believed to be of French decent. Anyone know anything else?
